Hartford City Facts

•	One of the most recognizable landmarks on the skyline of Hartford, CT, the "rampant colt" sits atop the onion dome on what was Samuel Colt's manufacturing facility which opened in 1855 to produce firearms.
•	Bushnell Park provides not only respite from concrete and steel, but is a venue for several festivals, fairs and events. It is named for the Reverend Horace Bushnell, who was an early advocate to create an open space for the public in Hartford, CT.
•	Hartford, CT was world famous as an insurance center. Its insurance business began in 1794, and the area was once home to the headquarters of more than 35 insurance companies. Mergers and downsizing during the late 20th century, however, greatly lessened the insurance industry's importance.
